Ed Begley Jr. Honored By Governor Schwarzenegger For Green Ways (Video)

We’re not sure what the basis for the ceremony was, but Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently honored Ed Begley Jr. for his green living. Commenting from his Twitter account, Schwarzenegger wrote , “Surprised @edbegleyjr w/ a special award – he’s the king of practicing what he preaches about going green.” The Governor then linked to a low-quality video of the ceremony; which feels about right considering the budget crisis the state is currently weathering. Annotate the Web: Google Launches SideWiki

Over the years, numerous companies have offered services that allowed users to annotate web pages. Now, with a new project called SideWiki , Google is going to join the fray as well. SideWiki, which will be distributed with a special version of the Google Toolbar for Firefox and Internet Explorer, allows users to publicly annotate any page on the web. Entries will then be sorted by an algorithm that filters out low-quality comments and moves the most interesting items to the top. S

Korean companies join forces for natural gas production

The South Korean government has signed a memorandum of understanding with global steel producer POSCO and energy and petrochemical producer SK Energy to develop coal conversion technologies including synthetic natural gas (SNG). It is hoped that the companies can form SNG through a coal-to-gas conversion process using low quality coal as Korea bids to drastically reduce its dependence on imported liquefied natural gas.
